Our care workers understand the daily difficulties that progressive neurological illnesses can bring. That’s why our approach to providing quality care involves keeping our care workers to a minimum number to ensure continuity of care is maintained.

What is dementia care?

If you have a loved one living with dementia, you’ll know that it can often be a difficult or distressing situation. Caring for a person with dementia can therefore be a challenging and highly emotional task, especially for a family member acting as a carer.

Everybody’s experience of dementia can be very different, but feelings of confusion, isolation and memory loss are common amongst those affected. Providing support for someone with dementia usually means having to take extra care and consideration of these aspects to ensure they remain happy and comfortable under the circumstances.

Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia already affect 1 in 14 people over the age of 65, and cases are continually rising on a global scale. We know it can be a worry making sure your loved one receives the right care and attention they need, especially for what can feel like an isolating illness.

Testimonials

"I just wanted to say a very big thank you to you and all your colleagues for looking and caring for my Aunt Belle over the past few years.  She has been very lucky to be looked after so well in her own home.  This is something she dearly wanted as she did not want to be put into a home. But I can’t say how grateful and lucky Belle was to have such a caring, thoughtful and loving carer in Janet.  She has been a diamond and so amazing in providing the care and support that Belle needed, although sometimes didn’t realize and appreciate it.  Janet was dedicated and fully committed to ensuring that Belle was is the best place, right to the end.  I know that the last few months have been difficult for her having such a close relationship with each other.  Janet has also supported us, keeping us informed, especially during the lockdown when we couldn’t visit Belle.  She has even provided a video and telephone links so we could speak to her.  What a brilliant lady, going the extra mile, I cant thank her enough. We have personally thanked Janet, but wanted to send our thanks via you, ensuring that she is recognised for the amazing work that she and your team do, especially in this difficult time that we are living in.  Covid has added so much pressure on your services but they have been the lifeline for people like my Aunt. Again, I cant thank you enough, for everything, it is really appreciated."
