The organiser of a fundraising event in aid of Macmillan nurses and Marie Curie Care has appealed to local businesses for raffle prizes. The event is being held at the Acomb Parish Church hall in Acomb on Saturday June 13th from 10.30am. Care provider, SureCare (York) is holding a summer fete to raise money for the two charities and is inviting local business’s to contribute raffle prizes to help boost funds. SureCare director, Debbie Kirschman said:“The work that these charities perform is truly marvellous and close to our hearts. We have a number of palliative care clients and intend to expand in that area so that we can provide more care for the terminally ill in the comfort and familiar surroundings of their own home.”The fund raising event will include raffles, tombola, face painting and nail art. Home baked goods will be on sale and there will be an opportunity to burn off a few calories on a Wii Fit Board. Anyone wishing to make a donation or provide a raffle prize can contact Debbie on 01904 784 989.
