Are you a caring and compassionate individual looking to make a positive impact in your daily life? Here at SureCare, we have an abundance of rewarding job opportunities available within the home care sector.
As we head into Autumn, more and more people are on the hunt for a new job. Whether you’re ready to kick-start your career after a summer break, or you’re looking to earn some extra cash ahead of the festive season, a career with SureCare may be just the right path for you.
You don’t necessarily need any previous experience in a care role, as we’ll provide you with all the right training on our procedures and policies. Instead, we look for candidates who can demonstrate compassion, strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
As a home care worker, you can develop your personal and professional skills, whilst significantly enriching the lives of people in the local community. Read on to find out more about what it means to join SureCare’s growing team of care workers.
Delivering essential support
Many of us, at some point in our lives, will provide informal care for a loved one at home – whether it’s for parents in their old age, or siblings or partners living with additional support needs. Providing care in this way is often one of the most overlooked jobs any of us will ever do, especially when it’s usually being done entirely voluntarily.
This is where care workers can offer a lifeline to people in the community. As a home care worker, you’ll be able to make a living by supporting others in their daily lives. Not only will you deliver vital care services to those who require them, you’ll also be helping to ease the burden on their family members.
No two service users are ever the same; each will have their own requirements and routines set out in their support plans. Whilst carrying out care visits, your tasks can include some or all of the following:
- Personal care and providing assistance with mobility issues;
- Morning and evening routines, including dressing and helping clients in and out of bed;
- Preparing meals and assistance with feeding;
- Helping with a client’s personal hygiene management, including washing, bathing and toileting;
- Administering medication (where indicated in their support plan);
- Assisting with additional domestic tasks, like cleaning, doing laundry, shopping and running other errands.
In some cases, you may also be asked to provide additional support for other issues relating to the comfort and well-being of our clients where necessary.
High demand for care services
Now more than ever, demand for home care is extremely high. Increases in life expectancy mean that many people are living longer, whilst requiring additional assistance in their daily lives.
What’s more, the rise of home care services in recent years has allowed more people to have the option of where they receive support. For many, it’s important to maintain a sense of independence in the comfort of their own homes, rather than move into a care home setting.
As this demand continues to grow, so too does our capacity for care workers to join our team. SureCare is able to offer truly rewarding career opportunities to those looking to give something back to their local community, alongside furthering their own careers.
Increased job opportunities
It was only a few years ago that so many people found themselves struggling for work. The COVID-19 pandemic saw millions of people facing furlough or even redundancy. For many, this meant using their time to help others through an exceptionally challenging period, whilst also exploring other career prospects.
The home care sector was uniquely placed to tackle both of these issues simultaneously. Here at SureCare, we needed to support people requiring care more than ever before. In addition, we were able to offer a lifeline to those looking to get back into work quickly. With a range of shift patterns available, SureCare has helped people from all walks of life into part-time and full-time positions that work flexibly around them.
And it doesn’t stop there. Becoming a care worker doesn’t have to be the final stop in a person’s career. Many of our Team Leaders and Registered Managers once began as Care Assistants. At SureCare, we strongly encourage career progression and even offer access to fully funded qualifications, supporting you in your personal and professional development.
