Respite Care

Flexible care cover for when regular carers need a break

Continuity of care with our respite service

At SureCare, we offer Respite Care services that can support informal carers in need of some time away from providing regular care. We know just how important it is for voluntary carers to take a break every now and then, without compromising on continuity of care for their loved ones.

With our ability to provide Respite Care and Holiday Care services, a home care worker from SureCare can support an individual’s care needs in their carer’s absence. This means hard-working full-time carers – such as a partner, sibling or child – can take a short break or a holiday, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is in good, capable hands.

What is Respite Care?

Respite Care refers to a type of home care service that allows a regular carer to take some time off. It’s important for voluntary carers to also look after their own physical and mental well-being, or they may struggle to maintain adequate standards of support. In order to facilitate this, a respite care worker can temporarily fill in for them.

As more and more people are choosing to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes – rather than moving into a care home or retirement setting – demand for flexible care in the home is rapidly growing. For many older and vulnerable people, however, care at home is often given by relatives on an informal basis.

In fact, it’s estimated that almost 5 million people in the UK provide informal care that is usually voluntary and unpaid. Often, this means family members and close friends will either visit loved ones in their spare time or live with them as a designated carer.

Respite Care from SureCare is a flexible service that can relieve the pressures on an informal carer. Each of our Holiday and Respite Care packages is tailored for the individual. This way, we aim to put your mind at ease that the right care is provided during the regular carer’s time off, no matter how long or short that may be.

Help for your family support network

At SureCare, it’s our mission to make sure everybody’s well-being is looked after. It’s not just those requiring daily support who we care about, but also those family members and informal carers around them, who will occasionally need a break. Our friendly care teams work with you and your loved ones to provide assurances on how we can accommodate your needs upon request.

Our capacity for delivering care is highly flexible, so we can adapt to changing situations alongside establishing a longer-term care plan.
