SureCare Chesterfield & Worksop is led by Harjit and Sundeep Randhawa.

About Harjit and Sundeep

Harjit and Sundeep decided to start a domiciliary care business (also known as home care) due to the experiences of their relatives, after having operations in hospital. Although well enough to go home, neither could be discharged as the correct home care support was not initially available leading to extended stays in hospital. However, when home care services were put in place both Harjit and Sundeep felt there was no continuity in the care workers visiting, no consistency in the time of visits or rapport built up with care workers. They felt they needed a service which met the individual needs and preferences of their family members and most importantly made them feel valued.

Harjit has over 20 years’ experience within the health sector. She started her career in a private hospital, the Nuffield, before moving on to the NHS and at the same time worked towards a BSc (Hons) Physiology & Pharmacology. She took a career break for a while to be a full-time mum to her four children but decided to return to work part-time for a company providing out of hours treatment services with the community district nursing service. Whilst working in the community Harjit felt she was able to support services users within their home for a short time and brighten up their day, making them feel important and happy. She is passionate about care and a person who always goes above and beyond to make sure people are looked after in the best way possible. Harjit feels that running her own business will allow her to provide support and assistance to clients in their own homes in ways that will lead to high standards of care being delivered and enable clients to improve their wellbeing.

Sundeep is originally of a legal background, with a degree in Law (LLB) along with a Master of Laws (LLM). However, having been disappointed with the care and support provided for her family member she felt she wanted to provide a better service in the community, one which promotes the welfare of the client in the loving environment of their own home. Her ethos is that receiving the highest quality of care in your own home, where you feel safe and comfortable, enables people to best maintain their independence and wellbeing. Sundeep is inspired and passionate to be part of a business which makes a real difference to people’s lives.

Staff Training

We believe it is important for care staff to be trained to give them the right skills and knowledge to perform their roles to the highest standards.

All care staff will complete the fifteen standards of Care Certificate within 12 weeks from the start of their employment, which includes standards such as safeguarding, infection prevention and control, basic life support, health and safety, to name but a few.

Throughout their employment with SureCare Chesterfield & Worksop care staff will receive training on a regular basis to keep their skills up to date, this may be delivered in face-to-face sessions, using online resources or by shadowing colleagues.
