Purpose of the position

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman to perform a variety of repair, maintenance, and improvement tasks across residential and/or commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge and experience in multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance. You will be responsible for ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with clients, property managers, and other team members.
  • Clean facilities by sweeping, dusting etc.
  • Perform maintenance and light repairs.
  • Perform routine landscaping on the grounds.
  • Paint and fill gaps or crevices (e.g. on walls).
  • Undertake light installation or carpenting (e.g. build cabinets).
  • Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. shovelling snow).
  • Identify and report the need for major repairs.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Undertaking basic gardening.
  • Conducting emergency audits.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of various trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects or work in various environments.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., electrical, plumbing) are a plus.

Work Schedule

  • Flexible hours based on requirements; may include evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts.
  • Full-time, part-time, or contract positions available.
