SureCare Shropshire is a franchise of SureCare Community Services Limited owned and operated by SureCare Shropshire Limited.

SureCare Shropshire is led by Chris Davies.  Chris hails from Merseyside originally but has moved all over the UK during a long and distinguished career in central government and across all levels of the civil service.  Whilst much of his scouse accent may have gone nowadays, he remains a lifelong member and avid supporter of Liverpool Football Club.  His early days were spent studying graphics at the Liverpool School of Art and Design, the home some years earlier of one John Winston Lennon.  Chris has managed very large organisations and is a former Business Analyst and Systems Architect.  He has used those skills to develop SureCare Shropshire into one of the largest care providers in Shropshire and one of the earliest and largest SureCare franchises.  He is a UK Dementia Champion, and extremely active politically, both in Shropshire and nationally, and campaigns tirelessly to increase the profile of social care.  He was part of a group delegation to Parliament to make politicians aware of all the issues around social care and was a shortlisted candidate for the UKHCA Board in 2015.  Chris has built a team around him of equally committed people, dedicated to providing the highest quality care for the people of Shropshire.

Meet the Team

Deborah Blake – Service Manager

Originally from Birmingham Deborah moved to Shropshire in 1999.  She started her professional life with Lloyds Bank and left to have a family in 1993, joining SureCare Shropshire when it was in it’s infancy in 2000.  During her time here she has achieved her NVQ 4 in both Care and Management, her Registered Managers qualification, PTTLL’s and completed a Certificate in Higher Education for professional studies in Management.  She passionately believes that the quality of the care we provide is vital and continuously strives to ensure this is delivered.  She is fortunate to have a supportive team around her who feel the same way.

Alison Waterhouse – Deputy Service Manager HR and Training

Alison qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1989 working in both Shropshire based surgeries, Liverpool and London before taking a career break to have children.  She joined SureCare Shropshire in 2005, completing her NVQ 4 in Health and Social Care, her A1 assessor award and PTTLL’s.  She is a UK Dementia Champion and delivers the highest quality training, not only in house but also where required to the wider community.  Every person is entitled to receive an exceptional standard of care and by training and selecting the right people to become care workers, Alison is proud of her record at SureCare Shropshire.

Suzanne Andrew – Community Care Manager

Suz is the public face of SureCare Shropshire’s management working tirelessly out in the community.  She has climbed the ranks from her early days, having joined the company as a care worker in 2001.  She has a wealth of experience and has completed her NVQ 4 in Health and Social Care.

Tracy Geary – Service Liaison

Our girl Friday Tracy, who provides support for both management and community teams, joined SureCare Shropshire in 2007.  She has a wealth of experience and supports both our Community Care Manager and the Care Co-ordinators.  She has completed her NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, Team Leading and Customer Service.

Senior Carers – Chris Sedge, Stella Heath, Deb Kidman and Kath Hill

They are the friendly voice at the end of the phone when the office is closed.  They support both staff and clients outside the normal office working hours.  All have either obtained or are working to their Level 3 Qualification in Health and Social Care.

Care Co-ordinators and Administration – Co-ordinators: Carl Hazell, Becky Stevens, Stacey Rowson / Administration:  Juliette Smith and Sophie Williams

Our core team of Care Co-ordinators have 28 years’ of experience between them, working for SureCare in Shropshire.  The rostering and scheduling of care is a difficult job requiring a mix of technical and customer facing skills.  They are a tight knit team who work under great pressure to make sure our service users receive the care and support they need.  Our administrators provide all our payroll and office support services and have a wide range of experience, achieving NVQs in both Administration and Customer Service.
